Congressional Visits Day 2010

The 15th Annual SET Congressional Visits Day
Forty IEEE members joined the 270 scientists and engineers participating in the 2010 Science, Engineering and Technology Congressional Visits Day, which was held on 28-29 April in Washington. CVD provides an opportunity for U.S. IEEE members to interact with their representatives in Congress on issues related to R&D, innovation and U.S. technological competitiveness. IEEE members participated in a total of 72 congressional visits to encourage federal investments in research and development. During the CVD reception, IEEE-USA President Evelyn Hirt presented U.S. Representatives David Wu, Chair, Subcommittee on Technology & Innovation, House Committee on Science & Technology; and Ralph Hall, Ranking Member, House Committee on Science & Technology, with the George E. Brown, Jr. Memorial Award for Science, Engineering and Technology Leadership.

Below is a selection of pictures representing some of the highlights from CVD 2010.
